The Diet Solution: Lose Weight & Feel Great

I've finally found the solution to dieting. It's called The Diet Solution Program, an appropriate name indeed! It's the fat loss program that I personally follow. Below, I'll tell you how it works, so you can decide if it might be right for you.

The Diet Solution   The Diet Solution Program ("The DSP") is a method of healthy eating developed by Isabel De Los Rios, a certified nutritionist and exercise physiologist. The purpose of the program is to help you lose weight easily, steadily, and permanently, without any weight-loss drugs, pills, supplements, or tricks.

Isabel was overweight for many years before she developed The DSP. Today she is thinner and healthier than at any time in her life. One of the videos on her website famously shows a photo of her holding her 2-week old baby in her arms. Even though she had recently given birth, she looks as thin and healthy as ever.

You can see another picture of Isabel above, on my copy of The Diet Solution manual. If you watch the introductory video on her website, you will also see her "before" photo that shows how she looked when she was overweight.

The 3 Steps to Weight Loss

I wasn't kidding when I said that The Diet Solution program has become my own personal solution to dieting. In my entire life (and I'm 43), I've never really found a diet plan I could stick to. I can't stand counting calories, etc., etc. That's main reason you'll find so many unusual weight loss tips on my website. I've cobbled together my own tricks and techniques over time.

What I've found with The Diet Solution, though, and the reason it works for me, is that it's not a diet at all. Most diets make you give up the foods you like. They all seem to restrict you in some way, or make you eat strange foods, or foods out of a box that (as Isabel says it) look like some kind of science experiment.

Isabel's program eliminates all of that. Instead, she returns us to a pattern of healthy eating and exercise that drops the weight, pure and simple. And you don't feel deprived. Her weight loss program comes with lots of extras, but the basic concept boils down three steps:

  1. Determine Your Metabolic Type

  2. Create Your Personal Meal Plan

  3. Choose the Best Foods

Isabel's theory, and it makes sense to me, is that not everyone requires the same ratio of protein and carbs for proper health. So she provides you with a Metabolic Typing Test that determines which type you are: Protein Type, Carb Type, or Mixed Type. Then she explains what that means in terms of the types and combinations of foods you need to eat for your body type. (As it turns out, I am a protein type.)

Regardless of your metabolic type, you will be eating healthy on The Diet Solution program. Maybe healthier than you've ever eaten before (this was true for me).

Don't worry, though, you won't have to give up dessert and sweets entirely. Isabel believes in having a once-a-week "free day," when you can eat anything you want.

To help you plan what you should be eating, Isabel provides dozens of meal plans, already written out for you. In addition, The Diet Solution materials contain chapter after chapter that explain which foods to eat and which to avoid.

Some of Isabel's practices were real eye-openers for me. For example, my favorite artificial sweetener has always been Splenda. I've always known those other types like NutriSweet cause memory loss and cancer. But it turns out that even Splenda is not healthy enough for Isabel. She explains that you should only use Stevia, a sweetener made from a South American plant. She explains how most artificial sweeteners hurt your ability to lose weight, by slowing your liver's ability to break down fat.

Other chapters discuss the role of calories, organic food, the different types of fats, dairy, soy (which she explains you should avoid like the plague), grains, and more. To make it easy to get started, a Quick Start Guide is include with The Diet Solution program. According to Isabel, many people jump right in using the Quick Start Guide, then take their time to learn everything else without being rushed.
